Upon perusing the NY Times this afternoon, I came across a very compelling read- http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/28/nyregion/28daba.html?em.
“This recession just bought everyone an extra two years of the single life" is one of the quotes that actually made me smirk mainly because I'm beginning to realize that money seems like the crux of all marital discord and relationships. Forget about love! No romance without finance!
I have to chuckle at the comments made by this support group of women who all share the common bond of dating or being married to a financier- mainly bitching about how they can't enjoy the finer things in life such as bottle service, free rein of the credit card, shopping rendezvous, etc. I love reading about the extravagant lives of the wealthy because it really seems like a fantasy land- WAKE UP, AMERICA!!! It is a fantasy land and what it all boils down to is that we're more alike than we think we are. With the economic meltdown, stratification of classes are falling to the wayside and gentrification will soon ensue.
Simplify your lives.
