Slumdog

Everyone needs to watch this movie. I took Lats to the movies to watch 'Slumdog Millionaire' for his birthday and we absolutely enjoyed it. Someone teared up while watching the movie and it wasn't me (wink).




I love the recurring theme of the yellow dress when Latika was young and the yellow chiffon scarf she wore when she was older. She is soo gorgeous!


She takes my breath away...and no, not in a lesbian sort of way!

White House Flava' Flav'

We needed some flava' in the White House, forreal Pharrell... so cliche, but what a HISTORIC event! I'm so proud to be an American right now and I can't think of anyone I would want to lead our country except for Obama. What an amazing gift Obama possesses to inspire Americans during weak economic times and boost morales...I am still in awe as to how he is able to join Americans and infuse such a radiant sense of hope and optimism during trying times.

I can't help but want this closet! These pictures were taken from Jaime's blog: jaime wears black. Her black palette is always so chic and versatile. It's just too bad that I share a closet with a man now. A MAN! :D

DVF

I know my blog has been fashion and celeb galore these days but I feel like they're substantial posts, considering the fact that fashion is a form of art. Fashion makes me feel revitalized because there is always some sort of trend circulating that one can emulate, steal, distort, and revamping-whether it's your life, wardrobe, knocking bad habits- never did anyone any harm. :D

At any rate, I have gotten sucked into the world of designer couture- most notably the world of DVF- which also intersects the world of "The City" ladies. "DVF" stands for "Diane von Furstenberg" and she was the icon that made wrap dresses/skirts a hit. Next post, I promise to write something that will make you probe into your subconscious psyches instead of this materialistic, vain-centered topic at hand.

Lest we forget that fashion characterizes one's life and makes you who you are, just as a man's haircut can clearly define who he is and gives you glance into his soul. A terrible haircut is a turn-off so keep dem fades neat and clean.

A Starbucks drive-thru episode

Someone please tell me why I act like this. Man, I did something soooooooooo STUPID this morning. I went through the Starbucks drive-thru, ordered my drink and then kept driving on through to get to that window where you pay and I BLEW RIGHT BY IT!!!!!!!!!!! I kept driving on to eventually get to the window and just couldn't find the darn thing. I was waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel and by golly, I was at the end of it all where you pass that signature Starbucks green drive-thru garbage can. Holy crap, so embarrassing. I wound up having to go inside and get my drank and the barista laughed at me!

"The City"

Out of all the characters from "The Hills", I liked Whitney the most-rather, she was the one I could stand the most. Anyway, I watched the MTV teaser as well as the first episode and I'm absolutely LOVING this new show. In fact, I'm loving it more than "The Hills"...perhaps it's because it's taking place in my most favorite city in the whole wide world: NYC. I've had an infatuation with this city deeper than any boy I've ever crushed on! (Sorry Babe :D).

Obviously, the writers had to put in an antagonist in the show and I am beginning to hate Olivia already. From her haughty demeanor to her plastic exterior...what is there to love? HOWEVER...she does have a beautiful side profile and an impeccable taste in fashion, but we all know superficiality can only take you so far. At least with a likeable personality, people are more drawn to you if you're beautiful than if you're a gorgeous bitch.

I can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes! It's great to know these episodes are on MTV.com now since Lats and I waiting for our DirectTV to get installed.
